WKBT News 8 Now is looking for a dynamic storyteller to join our digital team in an exciting new position designed to meet the needs of today's audiences. The Digital Anchor/Producer is someone who understands both the on-air and digital spaces, and who can chart a new course in the streaming world. This person will thrive on deadlines, understand the importance of breaking news, curate and create new digital content, and build a relationship with our digital audience.

What you'll do:

As a Digital Anchor/Producer, you'll help lead our streaming coverage efforts that includes:

• Produce and anchor news segments designed specifically for our streaming platforms.
• Anchor streaming coverage of live events and breaking news.
• Identify content that's relevant to our audience and execute coverage from beginning to end.
• Create content for our streaming platforms that engage and attract audiences in our market.
• Create new workflows for streaming platforms that embrace new strategies and ideas.
• Assist in training other members of the team in streaming content and strategies.
• Experiment with new technologies and tools to refine workflows and processes.

You will contribute content to our digital and on-air platforms, including cross-promoting streaming content, and we will count on you to be a problem-solver when it comes to technical issues, production, and programming. Your flair for analytics and audience tools will help us better listen to and understand our audience.

What you'll bring:

The Digital Anchor/Producer will have experience in broadcast journalism, preferably in on-air or producing roles, combined with a strong understanding of the digital space, including streaming platforms. We are looking for experienced writing for print using AP style, a solid command of journalism ethics and the tenets of professional journalism, and experience producing video and audio for the web using desktop video software. A BA/BS in journalism or related field with online publishing or communications experience preferred.
