**MANTECH** seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented **Mechanic Technician** to join our vehicle sustainment team in **Fort Irwin, California.** The selected candidate will provide maintenance and logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program. **Responsibilities include but are not limited to:** + Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors. + Replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems. + Maintenance support includes operations, system troubleshooting, engineering, design, installation, analysis, maintenance and repair of U.S. systems and subsystems to component level. + Effectively applies industry or military standard troubleshooting procedures to localize and isolate faulty system components. + Performs other related duties as assigned. **Minimum Qualifications** : + 6+ years of qualified automotive maintenance experience. + Qualified mechanical experience includes one or more of the following: light or heavy-duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, aviation ground support systems, generators, power plants, aircraft or any diesel or gasoline powered equipment or vehicle. + Experience with a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multi-meters + Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening. + Must possess a Valid Driver's License for the location in which the work will be performed. + Ability to meet the government deployment physical requirements, if needed. + High School Diploma or GED. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Prior training or maintenance experience on MRAP FOV systems. + Preferably familiar or knowledgeable with MRAP/RCV systems. + Experience applying industry and/or military standard troubleshooting procedures to isolate faulty system components. + Willingness to travel to various US or OCONUS locations. **Clearance Requirements:** + Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting this position. **Physical Requirements:** + Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel. + Must be able to push, pull, and reach. + Must be able to work in high noise areas. + Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts. + Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.
