The security associate has a key role in setting the first impression for our customers and community. The security associates' responsibilities include safeguarding access to the retail store premises as well as the surrounding perimeter of our facility. In addition, the Security Associate will regularly monitor all entry and exit points, restricted access areas, staff entrance and badge verification. In addition, our security associates will be responsible for the first security checkpoint and will perform the first ID checks for initial entry into the store. The security associate is required to work in compliance with the State of Massachusetts regulations. This includes adhering to all policies and procedures, compliance standards, all safety and security protocols, and professional conduct standards. The Security Associate will report to the Assistant Manager and General Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities
Knowledge of guest intake and verification procedures and protocols
Demonstrated ability to interact with patients and the public to facilitate problem-solving in stressful situations with calm and open judgment.
Perform monthly security audits outlined by the CCC and Sanctuary
Ability to identify potential problems, analyze issues, and propose solutions.
Knowledge of safety, health and security protocols
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the dispensary’s patients.
Secure entrance from unauthorized patients
Professionally manage any situation within the store that is deemed by management as requiring security interdiction.
Develop a solid working relationship with local law enforcement officials.
Immediately contact local law enforcement or other emergency services when required by management or in a situation that requires immediate action.
Monitor traffic flow within the facility.
Assist in cash handling or cash transportation as necessary.
At least 21 years of age
Ensure consumption and diversion are not occurring in and around our facility
Always assist guests with low-key warmth and good soft skills
Computer capable
Other duties assigned by the manager.
Required Skills/Abilities
Ability to handle multiple tasks with a high attention to detail and focus.
Soft interpersonal skills
Previous experience managing people, operations, or systems in a cannabis retail facility or a combination of related experience.
Education and Experience
Education/Degree
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience/Background
Two years security experience preferred.
