Sponsored Projects Administration within the Office of Research provides excellent service to the UCI contract and grant community. Sponsored Projects staff act as UCI's institutional officials responsible for reviewing and submitting proposals to extramural sponsors for research, training and public service projects. Other institutional responsibilities include: negotiating and accepting awards on behalf of The Regents; drafting, negotiating and executing subcontracts; drafting, negotiating and executing data use agreements; ensuring institutional compliance with Federal and State regulations, sponsor policy and University policy; representing the campus and The Regents when interacting with sponsors; coordinating pre-award and post-award actions that require either institutional or sponsor prior approval; and resolving problems related to sponsored projects.
Responsibilities: Uses skills as a proficient, experienced research administrator to independently draft, oversee, negotiate and manage subawards, and ancillary agreements (such as data use and transfer agreements) and other transactions related to contract and grant management, and maintains contract and grant records in compliance with institutional research sponsor policies. Works on contracts and agreements in compliance with federal and state law and University policy related to subawards and ancillary agreements. Provides information and training to campus in the preparation, negotiation and administration/management of subawards and ancillary agreements. On behalf of The Regents, and within delegated authority, reviews proposals and drafts, negotiates and execute awards from federal, non-profit, state and local government sponsors, as well as UC sponsored programs, and UC/DOE labs.
NOTE: This is primarily a remote position. Infrequently, this position may need, or be required, to work on campus.
